    Title:A new dehazing algorithm based on overlapped sub-block homomorphic filtering

    Abstract:Considering the images captured under hazy weather conditions are blurred, a new dehazing algorithm based on overlapped sub-block homomorphic filtering in HSV color space is proposed. Firstly, the hazy image is transformed from RGB to HSV color space. Secondly, the luminance component V is dealt with the overlapped sub-block homomorphic filtering. Finally, the processed image is converted from HSV to RGB color space once again. Then the dehazing images will be obtained. According to the established algorithm model, the dehazing images could be evaluated by six objective evaluation parameters including average value, standard deviation, entropy, average gradient, edge intensity and contrast. The experimental results show that this algorithm has good dehazing effect. It can not only improve degradation of the image, but also amplify the image details and enhance the contrast of the image effectively. ? 2015 SPIE.

    Abstract:Photoelectric rotary table is mainly used in the defense industry and military fields, especially in the shooting range, target tracking, target acquisition, aerospace aspects play an important one. For range photoelectric measuring equipment field test application requirements, combined with a portable photoelectric rotary table data acquisition hardware system, software programming platform is presented based on the VC++, using MFC prepared PC interface, the realization of photoelectric turntable data acquisition, analysis and processing and debugging control. The host computer software design of serial communication and protocol, real-time data acquisition and display, real-time data curve drawing, analog acquisition, debugging guide, error analysis program, and gives the specific design method. Finally, through the photoelectric rotary table data acquisition hardware system alignment, the experimental results show that host computer software can better accomplish with lower machine data transmission, data acquisition, control and analysis, and to achieve the desired effect, the entire software system running performance is stable, flexible, strong practicality and reliability, the advantages of good scalability.. ? 2015 SPIE.

    Abstract:An intelligent control system for an X ray streak camera in a diagnostic instrument manipulator (DIM) is proposed and implemented, which can control time delay, electric focusing, image gain adjustment, switch of sweep voltage, acquiring environment parameters etc. The system consists of 16 A/D converters and 16 D/A converters, a 32-channel general purpose input/output (GPIO) and two sensors. An isolated DC/DC converter with multi-outputs and a single mode fiber were adopted to reduce the interference generated by the common ground among the A/D, D/A and I/O. The software was designed using graphical programming language and can remotely access the corresponding instrument from a website. The entire intelligent control system can acquire the desirable data at a speed of 30 Mb/s and store it for later analysis. The intelligent system was implemented on a streak camera in a DIM and it shows a temporal resolution of 11.25 ps, spatial distortion of less than 10% and dynamic range of 279:1. The intelligent control system has been successfully used in a streak camera to verify the synchronization of multi-channel laser on the Inertial Confinement Fusion Facility. ? 2015 Elsevier B.V.     Abstract:The backscattered light diagnostic technique has been developed on Shen Guang-III laser facility. After using three improvements, the backscattered light can be measured quantitatively. With the rectangle hole, the dispersion effect caused by the wedge lens can be removed. With the full aperture light and white light, the transmission of the backscattered diagnostic system can be obtained. After optimizing the diagnostic system, the spectrum and time process of stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) and stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) can be achieved.     Title:Adaptive neural control for a class of MIMO nonlinear systems with extreme learning machine

    Abstract:This paper presents two adaptive neural control schemes for a class of uncertain continuous-time multi-input multi-output (MIMO) nonlinear dynamic systems. Within these schemes, the single-hidden layer feedforward networks (SLFNs) are applied to approximate the unknown nonlinear functions of the systems and then the neural controller is built based on the approximated neural models. The parameters of the SLFNs are modified using the recently proposed neural algorithm named extreme learning machine (ELM), where the parameters of the hidden nodes are assigned randomly. Different from the original ELM algorithm, the output weights are updated using the adaptive laws derived based on the Lyapunov stability theorem and Barbalat's lemma so that the asymptotical stability of the system can be guaranteed. The robustifying control term is also constructed to compensate for approximation errors of the SLFNs. In order to avoid the requirement of the approximation error bounds, the estimation laws derived based on the Lyapunov stability theorem and Barbalat's lemma are employed to estimate the error bounds in the second adaptive control scheme. Finally the proposed control schemes are applied to control a two-link robot manipulator. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control schemes for the MIMO nonlinear system. ? 2014.

    Abstract:This paper proposes and demonstrates an optical quantum random number generator based on distribution of single photon pulse amplitude of a photomultiplier tube. The light emitted from ultraviolet LED is attenuated into discrete single photon sequence. After these photons are detected by the photomultiplier tube, the single-photon pulses with random distribution are output. Digital values of peaks of these single-photon pulses are used as the entropy sources of random number generation. In order to reduce the bias of the raw extracted random number, the SHA-256 post processing method based on FPGA is proposed and implemented. When our designed quantum random number generator works at a counting rate of 500 kc/s, 7 random bits can be extracted on average per detected photon, and a random number generation rate of 3.5 Mbit/s is obtained. The random bit sequences are tested by random number test programs ENT and STS.     Abstract:A compact static infrared snapshot imaging spectrometer (ISIS) is designed in order to satisfy the application requirements of real-Time spectral imaging for the moving targets. It consists of a CDP (crossed dispersion prism), an imaging lens, and a detector. Here we describe the spectral imaging principle, and design a short wave infrared imaging spectrometer with 4.8° field of view, the measured spectrum is from 0.9μm to 2.5μm and is sampled by 40 spectral channels.     Abstract:A dedicated single photoelectron spectrometer was developed to evaluate and demarcate the characteristics of the 8-inch micro-channel plate photo-multiplier tube (MCP-PMT), including but not limited to the gain and peak-to-valley voltage ratio (P/V) of a single photoelectron spectrum and uniformity of the photocathode. The analogue signal of charges was digitized with high precision charge-to-digital converter (QDC); the single photoelectron spectrum was obtained by integrating the digitized charge spectrum with VME data-acquisition software; and the photoelectron I-V flat curve at a specific point of the photocathode were evaluated with the current-sampling module of software LABVIEW. The results show that the gain and P/V ratio of the 8-inch MCP-PMT single photoelectron spectrum were 2.5233×107and above 2.78, respectively, under the operation conditions: a voltage of 2000 V, a pulse-width of 10 ns, a sampling-frequency of 1 kHz, and with LED light-source powered at 1.735 V. Moreover, the photocathode uniformity was estimated to be lower than 10%, satisfying the requirement for neutrino detection. ?, YYYY, Science Press. All right reserved.

    Abstract:Cotton stalk based activated carbon (AC) was prepared from Xinjiang, China by H3PO4 as activating reagent. In order to improve electrochemical properties of AC, a series of AC/MnO2 (electrolytic manganese dioxide)/AC composites with different MnO2 contents were prepared. The samples specific surface area and pore distribution were characterised by Brunauer, Emmett and Teller (BET); the structure and morphology were characterised by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) respectively. Moreover, the improvements of activated carbon modified by MnO2 were confirmed by the experiment of galvanostatic current charge/ discharge, cyclic voltammograms and alternating current impedance tests respectively. The results show that the specific capacitance (169 F g-1) of the composite material electrode (the contents of MnO2 is 5%) would be higher in 1·0 mol L-1 Et4NBF4/AN electrolyte at 2·0 A g-1 than other composite materials, which is 39% higher than the present study. The capacitance was kept more than 99·2% after 500 cycles and still higher than that of activated carbon materials. ? 2015 W. S. Maney & Son Ltd.

    Abstract:Lots of research work on the X-ray pulsar navigation detector has been carried out, but the rigorous quantitative calibration results of these detectors have never been given out. In order to further promote the research process in X-ray pulsar navigation field, a kind of high-precision X-ray source which could be tunable in energy distribution and photon flux is necessary. A new method has been proposed to generate such an X-ray source, in which a conventional X-ray tube which is called the original level tube is used to excite a special fluorescence target to generate fluorescence X-ray source. Firstly, the primary experiment system is built, with which the intensity of the fluorescence X-ray source is measured in atmospheric environment. The result indicates that the fluorescence X-ray source can be implemented in vacuum system to calibrate the detectors. Then an integral fluorescence X-ray source is fabricated which can be used in vacuum system and its intensity is measured under the condition of Dx = 300 cm and Ia = 200 μA. The photo fluxes are obtained to be 19.57 phs/s at 4.51 keV, 25.22 phs/s at 5.41 keV, and 33.27 phs/s at 8.05 keV. These data demonstrate the correctness of our method and that this new fluorescence X-ray source can be used to calibrate the x-ray pulsar navigation detector. ?, 2015, Chinese Physical Society.     Abstract:The basic theory and design method of a broad-band spatial heterodyne interferometric spectrometer was researched based on the multi-order diffraction of echelle grating. The characteristics of the heterodyne interferometric spectrometer was described and the relationships between the instrument performance parameters (such as spectral resolution, spectral range, signal-to-noise ratio, field of view, and diffraction order) and the initial optical and electronic parameters (such as echelle grating, field prism, imaging system and detector) were discussed. Then, an experimental platform for the broad-band spatial heterodyne spectrometer was settled to demonstrate the above discussions. The designed spectral resolution is 0.173 cm-1@16950 cm-1, and the spectral range is 500 nm to 700 nm. The broad-band results were given with a laser source (543. 5 nm, 632.8 nm), a sodium lamb (589 nm, 589.6 nm) and a mercury lamb (576.96 nm, 579.07 nm). It shows that the average wavenumber sampling interval of recovered spectra is 0.17 cm-1. When the triangle apodization is used in the process of spectral recovery, the measured spectral resolution is 0.39 cm-1. The obtained results conform to theoretical results and the relationship among orders of recovered spectrum accords with the theory results decided by grating function. ?, 2015, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
